My name is Augustinas Cepulis, and I’m an existential storytelling photographer based in Cornwall.
I was born on 29 May 2005 in Lithuania, but have spent most of my life around different parts of England. immigration has been a big factor in my life, as the journeys I took made me the person I am today. I use this journey to document my fascination with meaning, identity, and existence.
Whether it's capturing the unseen moments in everyday life or capturing themes of human nature, I aim to tell a valuable lesson in my work. Photography is not only a hobby but also therapy and a window to understand the fascinating yet bizarre complexity of the subject matter of humanity. My work explores a wide range of topics, including social connections, family representation, everyday life, and environmental connections.
I started photography as a hobby and took a GCSE course in 2018. For the past 8 years, I've been using photography to learn the world around me. But I decided to take the hobby seriously when I went to Art University Plymouth to hone and study photography in a professional and industry-ready manner.
My work has a heavy ethical foundation and a commitment to creating work that resonates on a personal and universal level. Respect is important, especially for the subjects that I capture.
